KOGI : Complaint and Plan for a peaceful protest to NUT state secretariat and LG Auditor General Office.

by

Your Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello, we wish to used this medium to appreciate and applaud your efforts in making sure that the uncleared Primary School Teachers in the state with geniune documents are cleared and payroll. We are also aware of your approval for our names to be payroll and as at December last year, payment commenced from January this year.

Sir, we wish to bring to your notice that those of us that may be lucky to be on the list are not captured for payment and we heard “RUMOR” that the cleared list is going through review right now in the office of the Auditor General for LG with a view to reduce the number already cleared and approved by your humble self Sir.

We also heard that only less than 100 names were sent to SUBEB for payment against about 2,000 cleared teachers list from the office of the Head of Service and approved by Your Excellency sir

At the moment, we’ve lost confidence on the branch NUT executives. They are not protecting our interest. They are after exploting teachers on the meagre salary and if payment of March is made without paying us alongside our colleagues, we may have no option than to mobilize ourselves to lock the state NUT office and no official work will be allowed and we will also mobilize our colleagues to join us in demanding for our entitlements.

We do not want to sound confrontational here sir but, like an adage that says “A HUNGRY MAN IS AN ANGRY MAN”, we have been doing our best at our various duty points despite the situation we found ourselves.

DEMANDS AND PRAYERS

1. That the cleared list be released to various Local Government LGEA offices
2. That the arrears of January and February be paid to us as directed by you earlier Sir.
3. That we should be invited for our data capturing
4. That our names be payroll for subsequent salary payments.

Thanking you in anticipation of your favourable response and prompt action
