Ahead of November governorship poll, a frontline aspirant for the kogi state Governorship election slated for November 16, 2019, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin Usman,  has approved the appointment of the former DG Audu/ Falake Campaign organization, Hon. Daniel Isah as the Director-General of Jibril Campaign Organisation.
Prof, as he is popularly known, hails from Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. His voyage in politics began over two decades ago but he came into political limelight when the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) was formed. Prof was a foundational member of the ACN. Prof is a protege of the late political icon and two time governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu.
His leadership acumen in ACN attracted late Prince Abubakar Audu, who was a gubernatorial candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), to defect from his party into the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). The late Audu’s decision to defect from ANPP to ACN was as a result of the fertile political environment created by the leadership of Comrade Isah Daniel and Alhaji Haddi Ametuo.
The perfection of the process that enabled a politician giant like late Audu to dump his own party ANPP and joined the party of Isah Daniel then was never a mistake but one of the best political calculation in the anals of Kogi political history.
It was a political marriage that gave late political icon a landmark opportunity to serve his people and develop his land once again in a keenly contested 2012 governorship election in Kogi State with Isah Daniel, his henchmen and teeming supporters viewing the entrance of late Audu as another opportunity to work with and promote a political giant like the late Adu-ọja. They worked hard, broke their backs and presented Audu as the Governorship candidate of the defunct ACN.
Comrade Isah Daniel, the strong pillar of the ACN then played a very crucial role in the political processes that lead to the merger of The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) June 21, 2013 with later James Ocholi SAN as a leader and funder of the CPC in Kogi state, Comrade Isah Daniel rolled then qualified him to be appointed as the vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, he also served as the Secretary General to the APC National Council for Kogi state election in 2015 general elections under the Chairmanship of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state.
His hard work brought victory to the party in the state, but unfortunately, fate played a cruel game on everyone as the victor of the gubernatorial election in 2015, Prince Abubakar Audu died before he could be sworn in as Governor. That unfortunate development led emergence of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in a decision by the APC National headquarters to allow the runner up of the APC primaries to enherit Audu’s.
With the case in court, some loyalist of the APC who were deprived of the opportunity to participate fully in the activities of their own party were left stranded hence the need to find an alternative platform to enable them test their popularity by contesting for positions into national and state legislative arms in the last general elections. Their political sojourn led them to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
It is unarguable that the last election in Kogi state was one of the most corrupt and bloody in the history of the state. But despite the elections being characterised by massive rigging and violence, his experience and skills as as a political master strategist, Prof Isah Daniel was able to produce a federal law maker in the person of Elder Leke Abejide who won the House of Representative election to represent Yagba Federal Constituency. Elder Abejide contested on the platform of the ADC.
The pressure of journey back home begun through the intervention of opinion moulders, political leaders and Kingmakers who intervened and ensured his return into his former political party which he was one of the founders, All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement made available to the press by Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin (Rtd) Campaign Organisation, led by the former Audu campaign DG, Prof Isah Daniel, the Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman Campaign Organisation will be chaired by the governorship aspirant himself: Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman CFR.
Prof Isah Daniel is a vastly experienced politician and one of the most consistent politicians in the state. With him heading the campaign Organization of Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman, it will be the rallying point of all shades of opinions among the progressives in Kogi State.
The constitution of the campaign organisation for Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman CFR, marks the beginning of a full fledge battle for the APC governorship ticket for gubernatorial election slated for November 18, 2019 in Kogi State.
