Kidnapped Emir of Kajuru Alhaji Hassan Adamu Kajuru has regained freedom.

The Emir was abducted from his palace on Saturday in the middle of the night after sporadic shootings.

However, only the Emir was released as kidnappers have continued to keep members of his family and some personal aides who were also abducted the same day.

Dahiru Abubakar, a chief and spokesman of the Kajuru Emirates said Monday afternoon that the Emir has been released.

Abubakar had earlier hinted that kidnappers had demanded a sum of N200m as ransom.

NPO Reports could not confirm if the ransom was paid before the monarch was released.
