Just In: Five Persons Kidnapped Along Lokoja – Abuja Road

Five persons have been kidnapped along Lokoja Abuja road. The incident happened on Friday.
The first  kidnapping took place at about 6:00 am when three passengers travelling along the road were kidnapped.
The second came in the afternoon, where another four passengers where kidnapped on the same road.
The road was this afternoon blocked by suspected kidnappers who operated for hours without interruption either from the police or any other security outfit.
Mr. John Okpas, a witness who spoke to MAWA Foundation via telephone, said passengers  were stranded along Kwali – Lokoja road for hours as a result of operation that was been carried out by the suspected kidnappers.
He has since appealed to both the federal and state government to address the insecurity on the road describing it as lion den for travellers.
This is not the first time passengers on the road have become under attack by kidnappers.
There have been recorded cases where passengers on the road have been under attack.
Just last week, some passengers on the road travelling to Lokoja, the Kogi state capital were attacked and others shot to death by suspected kidnappers.
