Just in: Federal High Court Strikes Court Case Seeking Disqualification of SDP Candidate, Muritala Ajaka .

 

The Federal High Court, Lokoja Division has struck out the pre-election suit No. SUIT NO:- FHC/LKJ/CS/18/2023 (Smuel Ajayi & Anor. Vs. Social Democratic Party (SDP) & 3Ors.) filed by Governor Yahaha Bello’s loyalists seeking to disqually Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka and his Deputy, Hon. Sam Abenemi from contesting the 11th November, 2023 Governorship Election in Kogi State. The plaintiff, Samual Ajayi and Shuaibu O. Abdullahi filed the suit against SDP, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, Hon. Sam Abenemi and INEC, praying the Honourable Court to disqualify Alh. Murtala Yakubu and his Deputy to prevent them from contesting the election on the ground that both are APC and SDP members.
The case was stuck out for being statue barred.
