JUST IN: Buhari shelves medical trip, returns to Abuja from Kenya

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday returned to Abuja, after his trip to Kenya to attend the 50th Anniversary of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The president’s media handlers had earlier stated that the president would travel to U.K for a two-week medical check up from Kenya after the UNEP event.

But the latest development was made known by the president aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmed who stated on his twitter handle on Friday that “President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja, after his participation in the 50th Anniversary of the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya”.

No reason had been offered by the presidency for the change of plan, or if the president had cancelled the UK trip.
