JUST IN: APC Sends Strong Warning To Wike Over His Actions

The North Central Forum within the All Progressive Congress (APC) has issued a stern warning to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, cautioning him against taking actions that may be detrimental to the party or the region.

During an emergency meeting held in Jos, the Plateau state capital, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, the chairman of the forum, emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure the party’s success in various legal stages, including tribunals, appeals, and the Supreme Court.

Zazzaga stated that they have received reports indicating that certain appointed officials, including Wike, are engaging in contradictory actions. Despite holding a position within the APC, it is reported that Wike maintains his membership with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and supports the PDP in various ventures, especially in legal matters following elections.

The chairman stressed the importance of Wike openly declaring his true party affiliation. If his actions run counter to the interests of the APC, the forum is prepared to take various actions against him, including legal steps.

Given Wike’s role as an appointee within the APC and his reputation for engaging in political-legal battles, particularly in Rivers State, Zazzaga urged him to vigorously support and devise strategies for the success of APC candidates in the courts, especially in the North Central Region, which includes the FCT.

Zazzaga also cautioned Wike against leveraging his position as the FCT Minister to strategize for his speculated 2027 presidential ambition, a notion circulating in certain circles. The forum will vigilantly ensure his unwavering allegiance to the nation, the APC, and President Bola Tinubu before entertaining any maneuvers for personal gain.

Furthermore, Zazzaga advised Wike to exercise caution in FCT demolition, land revocation, and other administrative policies that might have adverse consequences. He emphasized that the North Central region would be the first to experience and bear the consequences of any unfavorable developments in the FCT.

Considering the challenges the region is already facing, including security, Zazzaga urged all APC leaders, supporters, and members to rally behind candidates pursuing legal post-election matters in the courts to secure victory.

He also called on Nigerians in general to support President Bola Tinubu, Secretary to Government of the Federation, George Akume, all ministers, and those holding appointive positions in their efforts to excel in their responsibilities and deliver the dividends of democracy to the nation.
