Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has fulfilled his promise of commencing the payment of N30,000 minimum wage across the state effective January, 2020.
Some civil servants in the state, Zakari Haruna and Aisha Musa told Blueprint newspaper that they got their salary alerts on Friday 24th January 2020.
The civil servants thanked the government for keeping to its promise and did not give room for negotiations to facilitate early payment.
Blueprint reports that workers on grade levels 01 to 06 got at least N12,000 increment while those on grade levels 07 to 14 got N7,000.
With this development, Yobe state government has joined the rest of the states governments that have earlier commenced the implementation of the new minimum wage.
