It is with shock and sadness that I commiserate first with the brethren of Isanlu, and then Yagba East, Yagba people, Okun land and Kogi on the unfortunate and horrific incident where our innocence was once again shattered by the senseless shooting and killing of law enforcement officers and other citizens during a bank robbery.
Indeed, we live in perilous times, and our nation continues to suffer from insecurity. Regardless, violent crimes of this magnitude are strange to us in Okun land, and our disputes, yearnings, and even greed have never been articulated or addressed by this mindless level of violence. This of course explains the shock, apprehension and outrage attributed to this sad incident and needless loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the departed, the Nigerian Police Force, and our communities who have jointly suffered loss.
At a time like this, I encourage the brethren to reach out and demonstrate the love and compassion that is our custom and be the instruments of God’s warmth and assurance at this difficult times.
