A pro All Progressive Congress (APC) group, Northern Progressive Forum has call for the sack of minister of state for petroleum, Heineken Lokpobiri for appointing new Director General for Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
The minister in a letter dated 11th March, 2024 had appointed Ya’u Usman Idris as the new Executive Officer of Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Agency.
In a statement by the group’s media director, Abdulazeez Adamu, Saturday, criticized his action, describing it as an act of impersonation.
Appointment letter allegedly signed by the minister instead of the President through the SGF
“It is obvious and we have uncovered some games being played in making this appointment that is solely the responsibility of the president”.
“We have observed that it is a total impersonation of the character of Mr president which must immediately be reversed or expect us on the street of Abuja in the coming days”.
“When the president makes appointment, such appointment is conveyed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation not by a minister. This so called letter of appointment has shown the lack of administrative knowledge of Heineken, another Betta Edu kind of.”
The group also condemned minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and his gang whom they said are acting like god for always boasting that they are in charge of the government and will buy any appointment they want from the ‘Yoruba hungers’ around the president. That whatever they want is what will happen in the government. He recently boasted that he appointed three ministers , Lokpobiri inclusive.
“This is why every other week a Rivers PDP man is appointed while APC loyalist that labored for the president before his emergence at the primaries and general election are neglected, Wike’s money keep suggesting the Laborers are being mocked for being neglected.”
“It is very unfortunate that PDP members are now directing affairs of our government. They are only interested in destroying the government and preventing Mr President from getting a second term”.
The group however call on the president to pay critical attention to aides around him so as to avoid future impersonation as well as cautioning those entrusted with power not to misuse it.
