Palpable situations has heraled Kogi state in view of the upcoming Judgement of the Supreme Court,the Speaker Kogi state House of Assembly has absconded with the mace of the Assembly for fear of impeachement.
Very reliable sources confirmed to Observer times that Kogi state governor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello has concluded arrangement to remove the speaker over lack of confidence, for fear of Supreme Court nulifying his election with judgement on Monday 31st of August.
Kogi governor is envelope with the likely turn of events at the Supreme Court on Monday,and prefer to paly safe with an Ebira man from the Central becoming the Speaker,so as to protect his return to power in Kogi state in the event of another election.
It appears all Overtures to prevail on the Apex Court to ensure the victory of the state governor had not yielded any positive results,hence the plan B of the state governor.
Sensing a new development, The Speaker Kogi state House of Assembly has gone underground including the mace,symbol of authority of the state Assembly.
The state government is making efforts to procure a new mace, to enable the new Leadership of the state Assembly emerge to protect his interest from any eventualities.
