Says, Conviction Not Commensurate With Offence Committed.

Igala Vanguard has rejected the High Court judgement handed down on the killer of PDP Woman Leader,Salome Acheju Abu, killed in November 16 Kogi Governorship election, stating that the 12 year jail term was not commensurate to the offence committed.

In a strong worded statement issued by Engineer Lawrence Akpa ,the body accussed the High Court judge of bias and partial ,saying for unraveling the culprit as the prinipal actor and without prejudice,he deserved a death sentence.

He warned the judiciary not to set this country ablaze,by encouraging politically motivated killings and day light murder as perpetrated by the culprits who under the watch of Kogi state government carried out the inhuman and dastardly act.

‘This is an open invitation to unwanted elemets in our society like Ocholi Edicha to continue in his barbaric trade of taken people’s life, under the guise of political thuggery of a woman for that matter’.

‘We requested for a retrial of this case that involved cold blood murder of PDP woman leader in Kogi state,as we expected a landmark judgement and not a political judgement.’

‘This is very depressing to the women folk and not in tandem with the principle of social and natural justice, that is capable of discouraging our women from further participation in the political developement of this country.’

‘We will petition the judge who handed over this unpopular judgement to the NJC and asked that the case be retried for proper adjudication.’

‘This is glaringly meant to encourage thuggery and killer squad in our quest for an egalitarian society and sane political developement of Nigeria.’

‘It is counter productive, decapitating, dillapidating and dehumanizing for the judiciary aside the muddled up political system,to also devise another means to deny natural justice to ordinary Nigerians.’

‘Judiciary is the last home of the common men and women,it is an open invitation to anarchy and arms build up in our political evolution and dispensation,if the judgement is allowed to stand.’

‘This is evil, encouraging wickedness to continue, and a blatant and open invitation to judicial rascality.’

‘There is no justice here, how can a Judge give 12yrs imprisonment to a murderer,a premedetitated action and a new wave of thuggery that led to a woman been razed down in her residence, what a country.’

‘Without prejudice,we condemned the words and contents of the judgement and called on the judiciary to again look into the weight of the offence with a view to reversing and reviewing the judgement.’

‘This judgement is unacceptable and untenable,as we will appeal the judgement to get true and undiluted justice against the killer,Ocholi Edicha and his squad.’
