Igala Kingdom: Oworo Youths Claim Ownerships of Felele accept some of part of Lokoja belongs to Igala Kingdom, congratulates Attah Igala.

Youths of Oworo extraction has dissociate itself from the plots by some Ebira group in creating chaos in the state, thrown their weight behind the judgement was of the FHC Lokoja,that recorgnise three local government,which include Ajaokuta,Lokoja and Kogi as part of Igala territory, Oworo said the judgement is for the purpose of Royalty and symbolic and that the people of Oworo are part and parcel of Kogi state acknowledging the facts that Igala own some part of lokoja while Felele is part of  Oworo villages Which include Jakura, Ohiji and Tajimi, Over 40 villages make up Oworo Country which is bordered by
Bunu/Kabba to the West, Igbirra Koto, Adavi/
Okehi LGA to the South and the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT) to the North. Oworo villages
stand on a plateau near Lokoja and the duration of the journey by car from the Kogi State capital is
barely 30 minutes. The Youth group also called on the Attah Igala to intervene in the ongoing crisis in Iwomasi ruling House of Oworo Kingdom in Lokoja Local Government of Kogi that lead to the petitioned by one of the members in the state House of Assembly to dethrone the current Olu of Oworo, Mohammed Baiyerohi over alleged desecration of stool, saying that move is not for the interest of the Oworo people.

The youth group also asked Olu of Oworo HRH Muhammad Baiyerohi to relocates to Its tradition home, as custom of Oworo Kingdom demanded that every Olu of Oworo must reside in Agbaja and reign from Agbaja, as that has been the history Olus of Oworo kingdom who had reigned from 1855 to 2002 (over147 years), resided in Agbaja adding that the regents who served from 2002 to 2010, also reigned from Agbaja.

The Youths in a statement issued by Comrade Mokelu Momo urged the people of Kogi central not to create unusual panic they are known for,to cause needless disaffection in the state.

He says the protests of the people from the Central Senatorial district, showed they are not in tune with their ancestral history,advising them to go back to basis.

According to Momoh ,the creation of Kogi state from the old Kabba province and Lokoja area,was based on the historical facts that the boundary of the Igala nation,span to all the newly acquired three local government areas,hence the need to centralise the state capital of Kogi in Lokoja.

‘We should try to allign our selves with history,just like when Asaba became the capital of Delta State instead of Warri,as well as other newly created states in the last exercise by the Militaty.’

‘It is a historical facts that was exhumed though legal process,so as to put the issue of original custodians of this area and origin straight,but not an effort at enslaving or mulling imperialism.’

He disagreed with the state government for taken side with the cesation,without due diligence and other cultural implications,warning of any backlash on the aggrieved.

The youth group congratulated the paramount ruler of Igala kingdom, for recognizing and taken the bull by the horn, through seeking judicial interpretation, the group also task Attah Igala of the need to bring other tribes together and ensure peace resign.
