In what could be described as a parade of dignitaries, the Accord Party’s AP governorship candidate, Admiral Jibrin Usman, officially visited his Royal Majesty, the Attah of Igala Kingdom, ahead of the November 11th governorship election in Kogi State.
Admiral Jibrin Usman, who emerged the flagbearer of the Accord Party, AP, in a primary election held in Lokoja on May 23, stormed the ancestral home of the Igala kingdom with thousands of supporters and well-wishers from different parts of the state.
The former chief of naval staff, while addressing Igala Kingdom, said, I’m ready to serve the best interests of Igala Kingdom and Kogi in general. I understand the sacrifices you’ve made for me; I didn’t take them for granted, and I’m ready to reciprocate by serving you with every sense of humility once I assume office.
Speaking further, the politician reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and development of the land, stressing that he’s in a pole position to rescue the state, which he believes will be demonstrated by November this year.
Admiral Jibrin Usman, who expressed optimism heading into the next governorship election in the state, urged the inhabitants of the state, especially the Igala kingdom, to express their dissatisfaction with care, kicking against statements capable of causing tribal tension.
He did, however, thank his Royal Majesty, Alaji Mathew Opalu Oguche Akpa, the Atta Igala, for the warm treatment.
