ICDA: We Can’t Conduct Election In A Divided House,Electoral Committee Writes Abubakar Sadiq, Gives Conditions.

The electoral committee set up by the Igala Cultural Development Association has taken an expected decision of ensuring the United house and Harmony before the next election, a committee that have :

Comr Usman Okai Austin CNA has taken an assuming position on a must unity among igala groups before the ICDA National election, bellow is the letter to the ICDA leaders through president.

The Unedited Letter:

At the meeting of the Electoral Committee of Igala Cultural Development Association, ICDA, the body mandated to conduct elections into the various offices of the association, held at Abuja on Monday, 21st June 2021, the following resolutions were passed after an extensive deliberation.

1. That there is an existing rift in the leadership of the Association. It was then agreed that the leaders of the ICDA are to resolve their issues and close ranks as a prerequisite for conducting elections for the various offices of the association.
2. That as an association committed to reuniting all Igala social cultural associations and groups, it is the committee’s responsibility that the Association, through its members must show leadership by standing as a united front. Therefore, no election will be conducted by the committee until there is unity and the problems within the leadership are resolved.

3. That conducting an election in a divided environment can lead to an escalation of the internal crisis, which will not only weaken the ICDA but the entire Igala nation at large.
4. The committee appreciates the ICDA under the leadership of Abubakar Sadiq for acknowledging the members of the committee and the confidence reposed on them to carry out their duties.

The committee agreed on the above as part of its endeavours to ensure that it delivers on its responsibilities.

As stated earlier, the committee is readily available to proceed with the elections once the ICDA puts its house in order. However, if the rift in leadership persists, the ICDA is at liberty to dissolve the committee.
