The Eje Dekina and Acting Chairman, Igala Area Traditional Council, HRH Alhaji Dr Usman Obaje has given a very strong warning to Dr Simeon Oyigu to allow peace reign in ICDA.
HRH Dr Usman Obaje gave the warning while speaking at a meeting of some Traditional Rulers from Igala land and ICDA Board Of Trustees in Anyigba on Saturday.
The Eje described the consistent refusal of Dr Oyigu to honour his invitation to reconciliatory meetings as an affront on the Igala race and advised the Onu Ife, Chief Boniface Usman Musa, who was represented at the meeting by the Ogohi Akpacha to call his subject to order.
The Igala Area Traditional Council Acting Chairman used the occasion to declare continued support to ICDA under the leadership of Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmodu stressing that there must be peace in Igala land.
In a remark at the occasion, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of ICDA and Former Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Professor Stephen Ocheni, thanked the Eje and other Traditional Rulers who attended the meeting, describing them as champions of Igala unity.
He advised Dr Oyigu to embrace peace and show respect to the traditional institution in Igala land.
The Onu Uje and Eje Ibaji, Chief John Egwemi, the Eje Ofu, Alhaji Akwu Obaje, the Onu Ife, Chief Boniface Usman Musa who was represented by the Ogohi Akpacha, Chief Paul Achor, the Ogohi Onu Anyigba, Alhaji Abubakar Shaibu Okolo, the Ohiegba of Mozum, Alhaji Khalid Ali Bukar II, and the Onu Igala Lokoja, Chief Joseph Akpa in their contributions promised to cooperate with the Eje Dekina for a lasting peace in ICDA.
Also speaking at the occasion, a member of the electoral Committee recently inaugurated by ICDA, Comrade Austin Usman Okhai described as sacrilegious the snubbing of the Acting President of Igala Area Traditional Council by Dr Simeon Oyigu calls for peaceful resolution for the interest of Igala Nation
A former Acting Chairman of ICDA, Alhaji Usman Kogi while appreciating the Traditional Rulers and the critical stakeholders for the peace initiative advised Dr Oyigu to prepare his team for election at the end the current tenure in October and stop creating problems in Igala land.
Chief Hilary Edime Amodu , the Initiator of Igala Cultural Carnival used the occasion to brief the meeting of the progress made so far in the preparation for this year’s event.
In a vote of thanks, the National President of ICDA, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmodu said he was looking forward to an election that will usher in a new leadership for the Association, adding that he was fulfilled that he had paid his dues.
While thanking the Eje Dekina and other members of Igala Area Traditional Council for their massive support, Alhaji Sadiq called for massive prayers for the growth of Igala Kingdom.
The meeting was attended by Members of ICDA Board of Trustees, Members of the National Exco of ICDA, the reconciliatory Committee led by Shittu Jibrin and the Secretary, Igala Area Traditional Council, Mallam Yunusa Idachaba.
