Igala Cultural and Developement Association I(CDA), is set to conduct election of new officials into it’s offices.

The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) is an independent and non-political socio-cultural organisation of the people of Igala Kingdom located in Kogi State, north central Nigeria.

The Igala is the majority tribe in Kogi state and 9th largest of the over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria. ICDA serves as the voice of the Igala Kingdom on national issues and advocates for the development of the kingdom. ICDA is headquartered in Igala Unity House in Anyigba, a city in the east of Kogi State.

It has branches in all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja with diaspora affiliate associations such as Igala Association, United States and in the United Kingdom.

Attah Igala, the paramount ruler of the Igala Kingdom is the grand patron of the association with powers to override Board of Trustees and National Executive Council of the association, though this power is not encapsulated in the organisation’s constitution.

A statement signed by the ICDA General President Alhaji Ahmodu Abubakar   called on Igala people both home and away to endeavour to participate in the forthcoming election.

Bar Moses Ebute SAN, Festus Ogwuche, Austin Okai others are expected to coordinate and conduct ICDA National Election.

They appealed to Igala nation to rally round the association with a view to producing a formidable body that will chart a new course for the developement of Igala race.
