I Was Never Informed Our Rivers State Governorship Candidate Was Sick – Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has said that while in Port Harcourt, River State capital on Thursday, he was never informed that his party’s governorship candidate in the state was sick.

Obi stated this on Saturday while tendering an apology to Mrs Beatrice Itubo, the Rivers State governorship candidate of the Labour Party over his failure to visit her on her sickbed.

Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed had on the invitation of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, visited the state on Thursday where they were warmly received for the inauguration of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover.

During the visit, Governor Wike who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed the candidature of Obi and in return, Obi endorsed the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Siminalaye Fubara.

Itubo has reportedly been sick for two weeks after she was involved in a domestic accident and has been on crutches as she recuperates from what looks like a sprained ankle.
