The son of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ifeanyi Araraume Jnr on Wednesday said he has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State.

Araraume who was a former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism under Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration, said this while fielding questions from DAILY POST shortly after a local government emergency meeting held at the PDP State Headquarters Owerri, Imo state.

Ararume promised to support the party leaders to ensure PDP becomes victorious in the 2023 election.

He said,” Yesterday, I officially joined PDP in my ward and today I proceeded to the LGA.

“Today, I officially joined the PDP in my Ward. In everything I have done, I have tried my best never to be found wanting. I hope it remains so in this new journey.

“My joining PDP was my choice and I believe I’m coming to add value. By the grace of God, we will all work hard for the party to be victorious.

I will do my best to elevate the party in Isiala Mbano and the state.

On his dads, Senator Ararume’s defection to PDP soon,” he said
I can not speak for him. He is a very experienced politician but the treatment he got from the APC was most unfortunate.

When asked about the unfair treatment meted on his father by the leadership of the party, he said some of the positions that came especially the NNPC position would have impacted the state in terms of employment.
