in what is perceived to be a conspiracy on the ongoing post election matters at the Kogi State Governorship election tribunal. The SDP Governorship candidate, Natasha Akpoti has hinted on a supposedly cover-up game by the INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission).

Recall in the wake of the election, Natasha Akpoti was illegally and unlawfully excluded from the election in what pundit considered a misnomer and a quid-pro-quo between the INEC and Governor Yahaya Bello who was a sitting Governor at the time. A moved quashed by the court.

The November 16 Governorship election is said to have been marred with gross irregularities, electoral malpractices  which culminated  into human rights abuses where electorate were been shot at by the police and thugs, aided by security agents. The outcome of the election is currently been challenged at the tribunal.

It was tendered at the tribunal that the Deputy Governor Edward Onoja lied under oath falsifying his age records which according to legal interpretation is described as perjury. Edward Onoja who was a former employee of Guaranty Trust Bank is said to have given a different date of birth in his employment records contained with bank while supplying a different one to INEC.

Also, Yahaya Bello was riddled with double registration crime with INEC in 2016 which is  crime publishable under law. Recall also, the INEC staff involved in the double registration saga with Yahaya Bello was summarily dismissed by the commission upon investigation and acceptance of guilt.   A crime if proven, should technically disqualify Yahaya Bello/Edward Onoja’s candidacy in the said election.

Recall also that the case of Bayelsa State Governorship election where the APC was engulfed with identity misrepresentation bears a relationship with Edward Onoja’s case in this context.

But in recent development also, the INEC office in Abuja which holds these records was gutted in fire and this has raised the suspicion of a foul play.

According to a Facebook post by Natasha Akpoti, she did alert thus:
