Hundreds of APC supporters and members of the party in Gusau Local Government of Zamfara State, have today Wednesday June 23rd, 2021, dumped the party for the State ruling PDP.
A mammoth crowd gathered at the PDP state secretariat in the city capital Gusau today to pledge their loyalty to the ruling party. The Gusau Local Government PDP Chairman Alhaji Tukur Aliyu Haido presented the decamped members and supporters who were mostly from Magami ward of Gusau Local Government to the state party Chairman, Alh Tukur Danfulani Maikatako Gusau.
Our correspondent at the event reports that the crowd was unprecedented and colourful and attracted other APC supporters who joined their colleagues in the decamping exercise.

The APC youth leader of the Magami ward, Hassan Abdullahi Loli told our correspondent that over 5,000 supporters and leaders of APC from Magani ward dumped the party for PDP.
The youth representative from Magami ward said; “just within a blink of an eye after his assumption into office as the executive governor of the state, the people of Zamfara never had any incident of kidnapping, killing, attack, or cattle rustling for 9 months.
Abdullahi Loli further said the governor has within the last two years of his administration executed numerous projects that has direct bearing to the grassroots and other categories of people in the state.
Also speaking at the occasion,
the woman leader of the APC Magami ward, Malama Nana Abubakar Magami, said the devampees were the key stakeholders of the APC in Magami ward and leaders in the political arena of that ward and have now decided to join the ruling PDP for the development of the state.
Many of those who spoke to our correspondent in Gusau said the quality of leadership of Governor Bello Matawalle and that of Danfulani Maikato have been the major source of encouragement for them to take the decision of joining PDP.
They said they saw various developmental projects executed by Governor Matawalle and the way and manner in which he is diligently ruling the state.
They described the Governor as a complete gentleman of the highest order, who put his people before anything he does.
They said the governor’s free and jovial attitudes to the people with open mind, have been a source of joy and happiness to all of them.
Receiving the decamped APC members on behalf of the Executive Governor, the state PDP Chairman, Alh Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, said they would be treated equally with all other members of the PDP.
