All these are happening aftermath of COVID-19 lockdown,Endsars and second wave of COVID-19 with aggressive approach,yet Lagos State kept waxing stronger in all areas.
Inspite of the colossal damages that occassioned this ugly developement of Endsars and it’s sour consequences,the state government did not hesitate by making provision for the mid -term businesses men and women that was affected by the human made phenomenon.
Not done with the many phases of social services to mitigate both natural and artificial occurrences in the mini-Nigeria Lagos State,Governor Sanwo-Olu keep date with Lagosians through his yearly program of ‘Sanwo-Olu Listens’ were he reached out to the vulnerable,less privilege,indigent ones in the society directly through cash and or kind.
The philantrophic disaposition of the Lagos state Governor’s,is allien to Lagos State in the years back, before the inception of the current administration.
What was noticeable interms of succour, empowerment,charity to the vulnerable only emanated from the office of the wife of the Governor or the women affairs Ministry of the state.
The popular new trend adopted by the lagos state government under the current administration is philanthropy taken too far,not only as a gesture,but a norm in our society in Lagos State.
This positive developement will enable targeted Lagosians from different ethnic backgrounds,creed and religion to join the league of active petty traders and midterm business entities, that will be useful to themselves and the Society.
The Governor’s gesture will bring about self sustenance to the needy, reduce unemployment, social stratification and economic independent.
‘Sanwolus Listens’ will also reduce to the barest minimum activities of criminally minded,criminal elements and petty thieves in Lagos and it’s environs.
This direct approach to the economically disadvantaged in the society,if replicated across the 36 states of the federation, including FCT will improve the general well being of many Nigerians,who will one way or the other venture into different types of trades and skill acquisition programs, using the proceeds.
The annual ‘Sanwo-Olu Listens’ had touched so many lives,and will be the best thing that is happening to the denied Lagosians and Nigerians resident in Lagos
