Kogi State Police Command has been accused of extortion by demanding 10,000 naira from police personnel, for transport fare, who would be transported to  Anambra for election

The police personnel who will be leaving Kogi for Anambra has been asked to pay N10,000, for transport fare to perform a public duty.

A source who pleaded Anonymity told INTEL REGION that:

“Kogi state police command Lokoja are asking there police personnel to pay #10, 000 each for transportation To and Fro to Anambra governorship election which is not suppose to be for a police officer to pay for his transportation for official duty not personal”

He added with:

“it’s urgent to be circulate let the federal government be aware about the police wrong doing please” He said.

With this revelation, we moved to call the PPRO of Kogi state, he replied with

He was busy, and  do not have any information on it”

He, however, told our correspondent to call back. INTEL REGION correspondent called him back, but he didn’t pick. He later called in the evening to deny the allegation, adding that the Personnel who accused the Kogi police command of extortion was not saying the truth

“It is a lie, we told them to be patient, to wait, but they didn’t”

After careful investigations, we seek more information from different sources who acknowledged that, the police actually pay the illegal fare, which is a form of extortion, and would like the federal government to be fully informed about it

“They will lie about it, all the things they said are lies, they are liars” He said.
