How Gunmen Attacked Department Of State Services’ Convoy, Killed Two Personnel

Some unidentified gunmen on Friday attacked operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State, killing two personnel.
SaharaReporters learnt that the officers were ambushed by the gunmen while on an election campaign duty in the Ekwulobia area of the state.

Some footage and photos showed the extent of firepower against the security agents as bullets riddled windshields of vehicles.
SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the Biafran National Guard, one of the groups agitating for the independence of Southeast Nigeria, declared war on the Nigerian government as it announced October 30, 2021, as the independence day of the region.
In videos obtained by SaharaReporters, some armed men who identified themselves as members of the Biafran National Guard were seen saying they were ready for war.
It had also been reported that the unknown gunmen on Friday shot dead several people in the same Ekwulobia area.
On Thursday, the Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement also confirmed a gun battle between the army and the gunmen, leading to the death of one of the attackers.
According to the statement, the gunmen allegedly attacked troops’ location at Amaekpu in the Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
