Hon. Ugabje Johnson Kenneth emerges SDP candidate for Ibaji by-election

 
The Social Democratic Party, SDP, on the 7th of September 2020, held its primaries to nominate a candidate for the House of Assembly by-election in Ibaji LGA, Kogi East of Kogi state.
In a keenly contested election, delegates of the party in Ibaji elected Hon. Ugbaje Johnson Kenneth to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming election. Hon. Ugbaje scored a total of 18 valid votes from the total of 26 votes cast.
As a formidable force in Ibaji, the party is confident of victory at the polls considering the popularity of its candidate and the goodwill it enjoys.
Hon Ugaje, in his acceptance speech, reassured the good people of his party and constituents that, as a selfless leader he will work as a servant with the party stakeholders and people of goodwill to ensure that justice and fairness, as it pertains to social infrastruce through strategic legislation and representation, is accorded the good people of ibaji LGA.
The party, through its State Chairman, called on all the sons and daughters of Ibaji LGA to rejoice as a credible alternative is finally available for them to rally around.
Recall that the House of Assembly member representing Ibaji LGA on the platform of the APC, Hon John Abah, had died last month after a brief illness leaving a vaccum necessitating replacement.
State party chairman, Alh. Mouktar Atimah, representative of the electoral body, INEC, security operatives and fellow party officials were there to grace and witness the occasion.
