Hon. Stella Odey commends Governor Ben Ayade for successful Local Government election, congratulates Chairmen, Vice and Councilors

 

The Honorable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Mrs. Stella Oreme Odey has commended His Excellency the executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen. Prof. Sir Ben Ayade for the successful conduct of Local Government elections.

Hon. Stella Odey described the successful conduct of the election by Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission, as a brilliant decision from the digital Governor of the state who is poised at taking power to the grassroot.

Hon. Odey further stated that, the decision and support of His Excellency has seen power totally relegated to the grassroot as virtually every households has one or two appointees, a decision (youth inclusion in Governance) which has been widely celebrated among young people across the nation.

Odey congratulated the council Chairmen, Vice and Councilors across the eighteen (18) LGAs in the State, stating that, she has no doubt that they will succeed with her as the Commissioner in the ministry of Local Government Affairs which Constitutionally is the connecting Ground between the state Government and Local Government.

She described the elected LG executives as the perfect choices of the masses hence their victory at the poll. While also advising that, the council executives plays ambassadorial/mediating role between the grassroot and upper Government, as Prof. Ben Ayade, the good Ambassador of Cross Riverians has been doing overtime.

According to her, “His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade has laid a solid foundation for all to thrive, and I believe strongly that the Chairmen, Vice and councilors will work on the solid foundation for success in their respective LGA, and ward, respectively”.

She pledged her ever willing supports to the LG officers. “I’m always open and ready for whatever support that is needed of me”, she concluded.
