The Kogi State Government has finally signed the agreement for the take off of the long awaited and much talked about Rural Access and Marketing Program (RAAMP)

Making the disclosure, the Kogi state Commissioner for Rural Development Hon Daniel Oneal Ejigbo, described Gov. Yahaya bello as a developmental enigma, said the RAAMP project would enable the opening up of Rural Areas with a view to boosting socioeconomic development.

Hon Daniel Oneal Ejigbo said that the soon to commence construction and rehabilitation of 503 kilometers of rural roads in the state is a manifest demonstration of the transformation mandate of Governor Yahaya Bello, said RAAMP is capable of transforming Kogi State rural areas.

The Commissioner explained that the intention of Governor Bello is to connect rural roads, ease the process of transporting farm produce to markets, thereby enhancing the socio-economic well-being of rural the dwellers.

According to Hon Ejigbo, the proposed project to be executed through Rural Access and Marketing Program (RAAMP). is Gov, Yahaya Bello’s efforts in his tireless strides to connect Kogi rural communities said with the signing work will soon commence on 503 Km of ashphalt roads.

In addition, the state government will grade over 2000km of roads, streams crossings and standard bridges through the Rural Access and Marketing Program (RAAMP) across the three senatorial zones.” He said the programme will commence in ernest.

Hon Ejigbo emphasised that Gov Yahaya Bello is on the right tract in seeking to lead Nigeria, especially against the backdrop of his giant strides in electrification of both rural/urban centers; urban and rural roads; education etc., which are the major yearning of the Nigerian electorates because these sectors are key to sustainable development.
