HAPPENING NOW: Portal opens as Nigeria police is recruiting constables

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says it is looking to recruit qualified persons as constables in the force.

Frank Mba, force public relations officer, announced the recruitment in a statement.

Mba said the online application portal will be open for a period of six weeks starting from November 29 to January 10, 2021.

Among the requirements listed is that applicants must have their national identification number (NIN) and a functional email address.

Also, applicants must be of Nigerian origin and be aged between 17 and 25 years old as of the time of applying.

The force advised interested persons with certain disabilities including ”defective eyesight, speech impediment, amputation of any part of the body, bow legs”, not to apply

Applicants are to visit www.policerecruitment.gov.ng and complete the online registration form.

Successful applicants will be invited for physical screening from January 10 to January 24, 2022.

“Applicants must have duly scanned copy of their original O’Level results to be uploaded to the portal,” the statement reads.

“Applicants must have passion for a career in the Nigeria police force and more satisfy the following requirements:

“Applicants must possess a minimum of five credits in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE NECO/NABTEB with credit passes in English and mathematics.

“Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67 m 12 for male and 1.64 m tall for female.

“Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment.

“Applicants must be free from any pecuniary embarrassment.”

The force said the recruitment exercise is “absolutely free of charge”.
