Gunmen kidnap law school student, others in Kogi

Some gunmen alleged to be kidnappers during the week allegedly kidnapped a law school student and other passengers along Kabba-Obajana road in Kogi State.

It was gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday when some gunmen alleged to be kidnappers stopped vehicles traveling along the route and kidnapped some passengers and ran into the bush.

As at the time of filling the report the Kogi State Police Command Public Relations Office, DSP William Ayah while confirming the report on Friday said many passengers were kidnapped but they don’t have the actual number of people kidnapped.

He also said that he is not sure if the law students Motunrayo Rafiu, was among those kidnapped that Tuesday.

But he confirmed that the parent of the law student reported to the police that those who kidnapped her are demanding ransom before they can release her.

His words, ” many passengers were kidnapped on Kabba-Obajana road on Tuesday but we don’t have the actual number of people kidnapped and also we don’t know if the law student was among those kidnapped.

“Her parents reported the incident to us and said the alleged suspects are demanding ransom from them before she can be released.

It was gathered that Motunrayo Rafiu, who recently graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was on her way to resume at the Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School when she was kidnapped.

She left her home in Ogun State on Tuesday morning and was kidnapped along Kabba-Obajana road in Kogi State.
