Scores of GIGMobility bus passengers were abducted by armed gunmen in the Obajana area of Kogi State on Saturday. The bus was en route from Lagos to Abuja when it was ambushed by the kidnappers near Obajana heading towards Lokoja, with only the driver managing to escape.
One passenger, a friend of a concerned X user, is among the abductees and the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N100 million for her release. The X user took to social media to plead for assistance in securing her friend’s safe return.
Eyewitnesses described the harrowing incident, with one individual narrowly escaping being kidnapped themselves. The company, GIG Mobility, confirmed the occurrence in a statement shared on social media, expressing their deep concern and calling for assistance from the authorities in resolving the situation.
