Kogi Democratic Group (KDG),has appealed to the EFCC and ICPC to act fast on the seeming allegations of Constituency project funds diversion in the State House of Assembly, involving the State Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja and Speaker,Mathew Kolawole of the State House of Assembly .
The group in a statement issued in lokoja today and signed by it’s PRO,Abdul Abdul frowned at the activities of the public officers in Kogi,who suddenly are now at the forefront of the war against corruption in the state .
He said the refusal to avail the state Lawmaker,Friday Sani Makama his legal Constituency funds meant for the developement of his community, inspite the Apex court ruling and the case of diversion established, is enough for anti corruption agencies to swing Into action to unravel the anomaly.
Abdul maintained that the anti corruption agencies has alot of work to do in Kogi,saying the administration in the last four years have indulged in mass denial of both political office holders,public officers and civil servants entitlements and diverted the money into private pockets.
He said the impeached deputy governor,Simon Achuba was also a victim of such sharp practices and so many others,saying an investigation by the state government will reveal alot of dirty deals during its first term.
The group wondered why public funds will be cocooned into private assets by some priviledged few ones at the corridor of power,stating that it is worth been looked it.
He said the two duos involved by proxy by the Deputy Governor and the Speaker of Kogi House of Assembly are not covered by immunity,hence the need to drag them without further delay,before the anti graft agencies .
The body said the two cases of forgery, corruption and proxy companies used to filter the Constituency funds meant for Igala Mela Odolu,must be exposed to avoid future reference.
The group spokesman said it is not unaware of the dirty and haphazard financial transactions, perpetrated in the last four years of this administration.
