Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has ordered the Aloko Flashman-led management of Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) not to feature candidates of opposition political parties in its programme, #LGDecide, ahead of the October 06 polls in the state.

This was communicated through the Permanent Secretary of the state Information Ministry, Mal. Yusuf Musa on Monday.

According to Musa, the governor wants only candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to be featured in the programme.

A top official of the state owned media outfit disclosed this to n-Mirror.

The official who spoke under condition of anonymity said the governor also warned against airing dissenting views on the platform.

The programme which had commenced last week provides candidates with the avenue to intimate the electorate with their campaign manifestos among others ahead of the exercise.

It has featured only Barr Mohammed Adamu, chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Wamba Local Government Area from the opposition before this latest directive.

The management had also extended invitation to Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) where the chairman, Cletus Ogah, appeared for the programme.

Meanwhile, state electoral umpire has vowed to make the exercise a reference point for other Nigeria’s states to emulate.

The chairman of the commission and former chairman of Nasarawa Local Government, Mal. Ayuba Usman Wandai made this known when he led a delegation on an advocacy tour to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) at his private residence in Lafia.

Wandai who sought the support of the royal father assured of a credible exercise.
