At Governor’s lodge Asokoro, Abuja yesterday, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has taken a significant step towards uniting the Nasarawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). As the leader of PDP in North Central Nigeria, Governor Mutfwang initiated a peace-building process aimed at resolving internal conflicts and promoting unity within the party.

Governor Mutfwang appealed to stakeholders to prioritize peace and unity, emphasizing the need to confront common enemies of democracy together. He constituted a committee co-chaired by Hon. Labaran Maku and Hon. Musa Elayo to facilitate dialogue and reconciliation.

The committee comprises representatives from both sides, including Hon. Francis Orogu, Hon. Luka Zhekaba, Dr. Mike Omeri, Sen. Suleiman Adokwe, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Adamu Oyanki, and Major General Nuhu Angbazo (rtd). Each party is expected to add two representatives, making it a five-member team. Governor Mutfwang’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Hon. Latep Dabang will serve as an advisory member.

The committee’s terms of reference include fostering an all-inclusive dialogue, promoting fairness and honesty, and addressing contentious issues. To ensure a smooth process, Governor Mutfwang directed that all congresses and litigation be put on hold pending the committee’s outcome.

This development is a welcome step towards peace and unity in Nasarawa PDP. Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and commitment to reconciliation are commendable. The success of this initiative will strengthen the party’s prospects in future elections.

May God bless Governor Mutfwang with wisdom and strength to complete this noble endeavour. May Hon. Labaran Maku and Musa Elayo guide the stabilization process successfully. May the nominated stakeholders find understanding and unity.
