Whichever angle you see this post, it might be your opinionistic entitlement.
But of all the sitting governors in Nigeria, I have never seen anyone as foolish, mundane yet, lethal as the enfant terrible in my dear Kogi state.
I can list up to ten sitting governors aspiring for National assignment. I can also tell without mincing words that Yahaya Bello is not in top 20 of presidential aspirants at the moment.
But what baffles me is the sylphic strategy point of buying celebrities for a trip of vanity.
While his counterparts get busy showing bulk of achievements in their various states, the young lad sits capriciously on exotic dinning table, feed gluttonously and pose for photo shoot with celebrities.
From the famous bar man (Cubana Chief priest) to Ex- Super Eagles to Music artists to movie screen divers, Bello relentlessly fritter tax payers’ money chasing shadow.
I am even appalled the more. In the midst of emptiness, Kogi is chilled. Both critics, pundits and supporters have assumed a position as onlookers while the Governor continue to wreck havoc and milk the treasury dry.
I have tried severally to penetrate through the media (local radio and TV stations), but its held in grip and constricted to the beck and call of a local deity grandstanding in the Lugard House.
How shameful, human beings still support his inordinate ambition, and guess what? They nod heads like a well-fed lizard on social media chanting GYB2PYB.
Alas! My generation may fail except due precaution is adhered.
With his kinsmen in strategic positions and the state assembly in Nilly-willy to his messianic grips, nothing to show, except a doctored documentary about audio projects.
I am not loosing sleep on Bello’s presidential ambition because it is dead on arrival. Not when I know he is being tactically pushed out of concentration ahead of 2023 Governorship elections.
But Kogites must make hey while the sun shines. Else!
