Gov. Ortom Lunches 50 Tractors for Benue Farmers.

Governor of Benue State Samuel Ortom, today lunched 50 tractors purchased by the Benue State government to boost agricultural production in the state. In a statement released by Terver Akase, Chief Press Secretary, the governor was quoted as saying;

“My dear good people of Benue State, the Tractors being launched today were procured at the cost of N13,997.000.00 (Thirteen Million, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Seven Thousand Naira) per unit and are highly subsidized by Government. Beneficiaries are therefore to pay only 40% of the cost of the Tractors, while the State Government pays the remaining 60% of the cost.
This implies that of the subsidized cost, beneficiaries will pay the sum of N5,600,000.00 per Tractor, while Government will bear the remaining 60% cost of N8,397,000.00 (Eight Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-Seven Thousand Naira) per unit of Tractor. This gesture is to enable our farmers afford the Tractors.”
