Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has reaffirmed God’s promise of prosperity for the state as a reality that his administration is determined to achieve.
The governor, while re-affirming his faith of a prosperous Oyo State yesterday, at the Omituntun 2023 Mega-Praise and End of the year thanksgiving, held at the Government House Arcade, Agodi, Ibadan, noted that the state has been blessed with abundant natural and human resources and that with proper planning and implementation, Oyo can become one of the most prosperous states in Nigeria.
Speaking further, Makinde attested to the importance of sacrifice and gratitude, which resonate with the Christmas season, a time of thanksgiving and celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
The governor noted that Jesus’ birth was a sacrifice made by God for the salvation of humanity, and that it is important to remember this sacrifice during the Christmas season.
The governor noted that his birthday is an opportunity to celebrate God’s faithfulness and to give thanks for His blessings, using the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to serving the people of the state with humility and dedication.
The governor urged all residents of Oyo to use this season to give back to those in need, and to demonstrate their gratitude for God’s blessing.
He noted that God has always required sacrifices from His people, describing several ways that one could make sacrifices to God.
The man of God said these include offering a time, talents, and our resources to further God’s kingdom.
Pastor Emmanuel, however, encouraged the congregation to think about what they could offer to God, and to make it a priority in their lives.
He stressed that even small sacrifices can make a big difference, and that it is important to approach them with the right attitude.
