Ghanaian Police Query Influx of Nigerians Amid August 1 Protest Fears

Ghanaian authorities at the Kotoka International Airport have expressed concern over the sudden surge in Nigerian arrivals, sparking speculation about a possible link to the planned August 1 protests in Nigeria.

When four Nigerians arrived on a morning AirPeace flight from Lagos, Ghanaian police officers asked, “Has the protest started in Nigeria? Why are Nigerians rushing into our country since last week?”

This inquiry comes as Nigerian politicians and their families have been leaving the country in large numbers, apparently seeking to escape the impending protests scheduled for August 1.

The Ghanaian police’s curiosity hints at a potential connection between the influx of Nigerians and the upcoming protests, raising questions about the situation’s implications for regional stability and cooperation.
