Fresh Trouble Hits Kogi PDP, As Stakeholders Demand Five Years Financial Audit

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Kogi state chapter has been reportedly thrown into unnecessary trouble as Party stakeholders demands financial audit from 2016 till date, the suggestion came following allegations of high level of commercializing of party activities by few cabals managing the party as a personal property

OBSERVERSTIMES gathered that, some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party in the state have written to the National Leadership of the party, seeking the Constitution of a high-powered investigative panel to review and forensically audit the Party’s financial dealings, spanning between 2016 to 2021.

In a petition signed by Senator Dino Melaye, who addressed the newly elected National Auditors of the Party.

Part of the petition reads: It is an open secret that the state executive Party have sidelined so many critical stakeholders and has been hijacked by few people led by Alfred Bello, who now run the Party as a private affair operating the party finances recklessly & nonchalantly.”

Part of the petition also demand that, the state Chairman of the Party who is unable to resolve so many crisis rocking the party should immediately step aside, the petitioner also asked the powerful panel to demand the polling unit and ward result of the PDP state Chairman.

Further finding by this medium also revealed that, the People’s Democratic Party in the last gubernatorial election was unable to organize its campaign in Kogi Central, as relevant stakeholders led by the State Chairman abandoned the Party which pave way for the incumbent Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello and the All Progressive Congress to cook results from Kogi Central.

This has become pertinent as the Party bids to reclaim power in the next Political dispensation In the State, OBSERVERSTIMES also sited other evidences which will be use in dissolving the entire state excos, among those are signed Petitions which will be presented in the next National Executive Council NEC meeting. Which shall be attended by Senators, Former Gubernatorial candidates and Governors.
