A former Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Usman Jibrin Rtd, a former Senator for Kogi East, Senator Nicholas Ugbane and a prominent Igala personality, Mr Inuwa Iyodo, have hailed the appointment of Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf as the new acting Chief Judge of FCT High Court.
Justice Baba-Yusuf was on Monday sworn in as the acting Chief Judge of FCT judiciary by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Muhammed Tanko.
Reacting to the appointment, Admiral Jibrin, a former Chief of Naval staff, espoused the virtues of Justice Baba-Yusuf, and described him as “worthy fit” for the job.
“Justice Baba-Yusuf is known for his uprightness, hardwork, intelligence, steadfastness and other virtues too numerous to mention. He is a worthy fit and his appointment as the new Chief Judge is coming at a time when the nation is looking up to the judiciary as its last hope. I congratulate Justice Baba-Yusuf and I pray that God give him more wisdom in his new assignment”, Admiral Jibrin stated.
In similar vein, Senator Nicholas Ugbane, who represented Kogi state in the Senate between 2003 and 2011, described the elevation of Justice Baba-Yusuf as reward for hardwork and excellence.
In his congratulatory message to Justice Baba-Yusuf, Senator Ugbane, eulogised the new Chief Judge, describing him as a moral jurist whose commitment to justice is unrivaled.
“Justice Baba-Yusuf, for those that may not have experienced him, is an upright man that has always shown commitment to dispensation of justice. His stance and defence for the rule of law and equity is unrivaled. The Honorable Justice possesses a work ethics that is admirable to everyone that have been in contact him. His elevation as the new Chief Judge of the FCT High Court is reward for excellence, hardwork and good values. I congratulate him and wish him a successful tenure”, Senator Ugbane stated.
In his own congratulatory message, Mr Inuwa Iyodo, felicitates with the new FCT Chief Judge and charged him to see his new office as a divine call for more service.
“I received the news of the elevation of Justice Baba-Yusuf as the new Chief Judge of FCT High Court with gladness. The revered Justice is a man known for excellence, and I have no doubt in mind that FCT Judiciary will experience major leap under his authority. On behalf of myself and my family, I congratulate him and urge him to see his appointment as a renewed call to service”, Mr Iyodo stated.
