In a shocking turn of events, the Kogi State administration under Governor Usman Ododo is facing a significant scandal involving forgery and misconduct. Honorable Ibrahim Muhammed Ayuba Nana, the Special Adviser on Security for the Ankpa Federal Constituency, has been arrested and dismissed for allegedly forging the signature of Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The scandal came to light when Ayuba Nana submitted a letter to the Nigerian Immigration Service, requesting an international passport with the SSG’s forged signature. The Immigration Service, upon receiving the letter, promptly contacted the SSG’s office to verify the authenticity of the signature. It was during this verification process that the forgery was confirmed, leading to the immediate apprehension of Nana by the Immigration Service.
Following his arrest, the Special Adviser was handed over to the police for prosecution, as per legal protocols. In light of these serious allegations, he has been relieved of his duties within the Kogi State government and now faces potential charges of forgery.
A top state official, who requested to remain anonymous, emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all official dealings. “The Kogi State government takes this matter seriously and is already implementing appropriate actions to address any misconduct,” the official stated. “We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our operations and ensuring public trust in our governmental institutions.”
As the investigation unfolds, the Usman Ododo administration is under scrutiny, with citizens and stakeholders closely monitoring the situation to see how the government will respond to this breach of trust and the implications it may have on its credibility.
