Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna Audu has hinted of plans to commence house-to-house testing for COVID-19 across the 21 local government areas in the state. Saka made this known when he hosted a team of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) officials on laboratory expansion in Lokoja on Thursday. He stated that plans are ongoing for the use of drones in sample collection from remote areas of the state.
The laboratory team recently joined their members in Kogi state to access ongoing Covid-19 testing in the state and as well increase the testing capacity of the state. The lab team will also assist in upgrading the molecular laboratories across the state.
