FGN Approves New Federal Poly for Plaeau, With take grant of N2 billion.

Plateau State governor Simon Lalong has secured the approval of President Muhammad Buhari for the establishment of a federal polytechnic in Plateau state.

The new federal polytechnic is to be sited in Shendam, headquarter of Shendam local government in Plateau State.

Shendam is the home town of Gov Simon Lalong.

The approval of President Buhari was conveyed to the Plateau State government by the federal ministry of education via a memo.

The memo which was signed by the Permanent secretary Arch Sunny Echono unbehalf of the Hon Minister reads : “I wish to inform your excellency that President Muhammadu Buhari (GCON) has approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic Shendam, Plateau State”

Mr President also approved a take off grant of N2 billion for the polytechnic from the funding resources of TETFUND for the procurement of core facilities for it’s immediate take off. This has already been conveyed to TETFUND for implementation”

In view of the above, a technical team from the federal ministry of education and the National Board for Technical Education will soon visit your state to identify the site in Shendam and access it’s readiness for commencement for academic activities in October 2021″

The approval memo from the ministry made available to Observerstimes is dated 29th January 2020, and was addressed to Plateau State governor Simon Lalong.
