The minister of state for education, Mr. Emeka Nwajubu, has announced the indefinite postponement of the 2020 examinations conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO).

He said that provisions had been made by the federal government for the students to learn online.

The government said that the postponement of this year’s Senior School Certificate Examination organised by WAEC and NECO was due to coronavirus pandemic.

“The students can learn online, we have made a lot of provisions for that. The director of the Federal Capital territory (FCT) has also opened a portal for the process

“We are working with the Ministry of Information and Culture to escalate education content to provide for everyone at home.

According to him, “our biggest challenge is to reach children who do not have devices but we are working with radio corporations to instill some of that for primary and secondary students.”
