No fewer than 70 Israeli nationals were evacuated from Nigeria by Air Peace airline on Saturday over fears of the spread of the deadly COVID-19 disease which has claimed many lives thus far.
Reports say those who were flown out of the country by Air peace are among persons who signified their intention to leave Nigeria since the outbreak of the dreaded COVID-19 in the country.
Further reports reveal that the flight which operated as “an essential flight” departed Nigeria through the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and had 17 crew members bringing the number of persons on board to 87.
This comes days after the United States of America through its Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria ordered its citizens living in the country to prepare for evacuation flights out of Nigeria amid the spread of COVID-19.
This was revealed last Friday in a statement entitled ‘Health Alert: US Mission in Nigeria’ which was issued by the Embassy advising American citizens to be in Abuja and Lagos “as soon as possible” to join the arranged flights back to the US.
