Day 2: Another busy day at the FCCPC Complaint Resolution Platform being held at St Paul’s Cathedral, Garrison, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. It commenced on Monday, 27 and will continue until Thursday, 30 September 2021.

This is an opportunity for Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) customers to seek redress for their complaints, and they are doing just that.

The Commission experienced an upsurge in complaints at Tuesday’s session. These ranged from disconnection without notice to excessive estimated billing, poor customer service and a host of issues.

The highlight of the session was a fact-finding visit to a residential building in the Pipeline area of Port-Harcourt to determine whether a consumer bypassed his meter or not. A joint team of FCCPC, NEMSA and PHED officials, including the complainant, who is disputing PHED’s allegation of energy theft, inspected the building.

The Complaint Resolution Platform continues on Wednesday, 29 September at the same venue.

The programme is supported by MacArthur Foundation.
