A peace meeting at the Aso Rock Villa involving Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor Peter Odili failed to finalize eight crucial resolutions, adding to the political turmoil in Rivers State. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also present at the gathering aimed at addressing the crisis, but consensus was not reached.
Earlier reports suggested Fubara and Odili had signed agreements, including recognition of the Rivers State House of Assembly leadership and the resignation of 27 PDP members. However, conflicting details emerged. The Special Adviser on Media to the Assembly’s Leader, Engr. Boma Precious Kalama, refuted these resolutions, calling Governor Fubara’s alleged signature fake.
Kalama pointed out discrepancies and missing signatures, highlighting the sudden change in pen color used by Governor Fubara. He urged Fubara’s supporters to stay focused and dismissed the circulated documents’ authenticity on traditional and social media platforms.
The situation sparked comments questioning the absence of key signatures and the sudden change in pen color, labeling the governor’s signature as fake and calling for accountability. Governor Fubara’s supporters were advised against believing these documents, deemed as “fake” and “rubbish.”
