The impromptu death of presidential Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari hit a deadly blow on the emerging alliance between the Yoruba political establishment within the APC and their Karnem Bornu colleagues.
It is now obvious that two cabal groups existed and still exists within the belly of the Buhari presidency. The Yoruba/Karnem Bornu cabal was led by late Abba Kyari with strong outposts in
Lagos, Maidugiri-Damaturu axis and strong hold on the National Secretariat of the party. It has vassals in Government House Owerri, the minority faction in Rivers State, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states. It also has Gandollar as part of its team.
This cabal promoted Ibrahim Magu and his madness. It used him to fight proxy political wars. So it remained until the unexpected death of Kyari. The card was a probable Tinubu/Kanuri ticket (May be the late Kyari himself). Note that Babachir Lawal is a member of this cabal.
The second cabal was supposedly led by Lawan Daura, the removed DSS DG. This group is mainly Hausa/Fulani cabal that absorbed the Rotimi Amaechi faction of Rivers State APC, the South East wing that consists of the likes of Rochas, Ogbonnaya Onu, Ken Nnamani among others. The principal vassals of this group are El Rufai, Yahaya Bello and majority of North West governors. The entrenched members are Boss Mustapha, AGF Malami and the current DG of DSS. They are promoting the El Rufai/Amaechi ticket or vice versa.
The truth of the matter is that they are seriously unravelling themselves and may both end up in political thrash bin. The appointment of Ibrahim Gambari as Chief of Staff positioned the Daura led cabal to fully embark on full decimation of the late Kyari group. The Daura cabal drew the first blood by ensuring the removal of Babachir Lawal for corruption. Do you remember “who is the presidency” quote?
The grandstanding by Vice President Osinbajo when he sacked Daura in the absence of Buhari should be seen in this cabal war. He imply deuced the scores. Do not be deceived that the apparent corruption of Magu was known a few days ago. It has been there right from inception. The next line in the battle is AGF Malami. They will go for his jugular to even the scores once more.
We are witnessing the most uncoordinated and anything goes presidency in our history. The final outcome will be the foretold disintegration of the APC. The South West lapped up the shit of the Buhari administration with the hope of getting the presidency in 2023. What will be their reaction if they finally lose out?
Last line: the APC will implode without remedy since it was just a single purpose vehicle for the election of Buhari.
