EXCLUSIVE: Former Kaduna Assembly Speaker Reveals Signature Was Forged on Documents, Unaware of Loans Taken by El-Rufai

In a stunning revelation, the former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Shagali, has disclosed that his signature was forged on documents related to loans taken by the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai. This bombshell was revealed by Hon. Henry Marah, Chairman of the State House of Assembly Ad Hoc Committee investigating the eight years of El-Rufai’s administration, during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

According to Marah, the former Speaker claimed that he was not aware of some of the loans taken by the government, and that his signature was forged on documents without his knowledge or consent. This shocking admission has raised serious questions about the level of corruption and deception that allegedly occurred during El-Rufai’s tenure.

Marah further revealed that about 60% of fully funded projects in Kaduna State were abandoned by the El-Rufai administration, and that the former Governor single-handedly took a staggering $758 million loan, despite meeting zero debt when he assumed office. The lawmaker emphasized that the House of Assembly was not aware of these transactions, as there was no resolution passed on the floor of the House.

This explosive revelation has sparked outrage and demands for accountability, as the people of Kaduna State seek answers for the alleged corruption and mismanagement of resources under El-Rufai’s administration. The abandoned projects, which dot the landscape of Kaduna State, stand as stark reminders of the funds that have been misappropriated and the opportunities squandered.

As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: the people of Kaduna State will no longer tolerate corruption and deception from their leaders. They demand transparency, accountability, and good governance, and they will stop at nothing to ensure that those responsible for these alleged crimes are brought to justice.
