Ex- Toto LG Chair Lies On Security, Worker’s Welfare,

…. Runs Affairs Without the Consultation of the Councilors.

Yahaya Idris, a renown Youth activist in Toto LG has reacted to a cheap and worthless statement credited to the immediate past executive Chairman, Hon. (Prince) Nuhu Adamu Dauda claiming that he never left 13,000 naira in the council account when he hand over to his successor.

It would be recall that the former council chairman handover mantle of leadership at night some days after their tenure elapsed despite the Governor order. He was reported to have done the night handing over to avoid executive embarrassment following a report indicated that the state governor Abdullahi A. Sule has arranged to meet all the 13 LGAs Director Personnel Management (DPM) in the State.

“Sincerely speaking the former council chairman failed to tell the people of Toto LG how much he spent in execution of those project he claimed. He didn’t detailed how he executed those ghosts projects and even when the workers were left to their fate he never care to intervene.”

On Security, he lied, it was the prompt intervention of the State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule that brought the situation under control, the council has witnessed worst security challenges in his era as people hardly go to farm, work, travel and do their businesses following series of recurring Kidnapping, banditry and social vices which crippled the socioeconomic activity in the area.

He was also reported to be the only Chairman in history of Toto LG that have served for 3 years without electricity, the council legislature were being owned overhead cost and other related allowances for several months.

The road he claimed was upset by the state government and we all know what happened in that area.

He claimed to have constructed 2 classroom in the 6 communities in Umaisha Development Area, was he a regional leader to have neglected other districts?.

He also said he was the only Chairman that have ever purchased vehicles for the council, what about Hon. Muktar Okpanachi who do not only constructed township road, renovated council Secretariat to it present status and built hospitals across the council as part of effotts to distribute wealth equally.

Idris called on Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda to prove him wrong by detailing all the funds accrued to the council under his 3 years administration and if he has a reputation to guide as he claimed.

“We are reliably informed, that Prince Nuhu Dauda is claiming that Toto LGC spent a whooping sum of N10 million for the funeral arrangement of the late APC Chairman, Philip Tatari Shekwo.

“Despite the prevailing security challenges, the former Chairman has not deemed it necessary to set up a security committee that will handle strategy, finance and mobilisation of all concerned to deal with the ugly situation. He handles it alone.

“According to our findings the Chairman singlehandedly runs the affairs of the council without consultation, especially with Councillors.” idris maintained.

He was also reported to had auctioned the local government properties without following due process, no committee was set up and beneficiary not known.

In a press release by his Media aid, the Chairman claimed he paid Councillors one million naira each monthly. Where did the said money came from when workers are crying for their monthly salaries?.

Idris said alleged that the former Chairman has absconded his office for over 6 months despite security challenges in the area.

“He said some people were paid by some stakeholders to blackmailed him or to stop him from running for a second term, is that statement not absurdity coming from a former council Chairman who was favour against all odds?.

Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda was reported to have neglected government structures put in place by successive administration such as guest house, council quarters which house himself and members of his family, Toto Abattoir, youth center, council Secretariat and other places now an eyesore as his administration does nothing to improve on those structures which are already decaying for lack of maintaining culture exhibited by the former council chairman.

Global Times Nigeria has reported that the chairmanship has been zone to Gadabuke District following a gentleman agreement and for ease of administration.
