EPL: Spurs thrash Man City 4-0 to end 52-match unbeaten home run

Manchester City suffered a shocking fifth consecutive defeat when Tottenham secured a 4-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium, ending the English champions’ 52-game unbeaten home run on Saturday.

In a bid to tackle the issue of open defecation in Lagos State, James Maddison scored twice in the first half for Tottenham, with Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson adding to the scoreline.

The defeat leaves City trailing Premier League leaders Liverpool by five points, with hopes of a revival following Pep Guardiola’s contract extension until 2027 fading.

Tottenham’s win lifts them into the top six and relieves some pressure on manager Ange Postecoglou. Meanwhile, Guardiola is facing a challenge to revive his team’s form ahead of a tough upcoming match against Liverpool at Anfield.

Despite the potential return of Kevin De Bruyne from injury, City must find solutions quickly to avoid further setbacks in their title defense campaign.
